Me and my setting

I live with my partner Mark and have been a childminder since 2001.

I specialise in the high-quality care and education of children from 3 months to around 5 years old. This allows me to provide toys, equipment and resources and organise activities and outings geared specifically to that age group.

  • Play-based curriculum geared towards each child's unique needs and interests

  • Reggio and Montessori-inspired resources I am an advocate of loose parts play

  • High-quality toys and resources, many of which are homemade and unique to the setting

  • High emphasis on natural, open-ended resources

  • Quite cul-de-sac location

  • Easy parking

  • Enclosed rear garden for supervised play

  • Non-smoking household

  • No pets

  • 7 seat people carrier

I fully comply with the requirements for the Early Years Register set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, and pride myself on the comprehensive Learning Journeys I compile, detailing your child's progress at my setting. When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, crochet and foreign travel.

My vision

The setting’s aim is to provide attentive, sensitive care to children ensuring they are safe, secure and happy thus enabling them to learn and develop in a holistic, cross curricular manner.

This is achieved by way of high-quality teaching and positive interactions combined with quality resources and rich and inviting experiences.

We enjoy calm days in an environment which promotes respect and tolerance, where creativity and individuality is valued and celebrated and where all voices are listened to.

As a result, we nurture confident, resilient and resourceful learners; proud of who they are and where they come from.
